Now this is interesting - could Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull actually be showing at Cannes? I can't imagine this film premiering at Cannes, but that's just what Spielberg and Lucas are hoping will happen. The final print isn't ready yet and evidently Spielberg is still editing and scoring the film but the studio feels confident that when festival screeners see the film that it'll be a lock to show. The proposed premier date is May 18th which is 4 days before its worldwide release date on May 22nd.

I was sort of surprised to find out that this wouldn't be Spielberg's first time at Cannes. He previously premiered E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial there in 1982.
