Oscar ratings down

"The low ratings bar for the Oscars was set in 2003, when the awards show -- held amid the Iraq war -- attracted 33 million viewers, representing 37 percent of the people watching TV. If the preliminary numbers for Sunday night's broadcast hold steady, the 2008 awards show will be considered the lowest-rated telecast of the decade. Still, ABC easily won the night in the ratings," says the New York Times.
